Part 1
As Dan
jimmied the window open in the darkness, he reminded himself of why he was
doing this. The twenty-one year old was outside a large house in a quiet neighborhood.
The well-trimmed hedges along the lawn on the far side of the house gave him
and his friends the cover he needed to break into the house unseen.
He was
breaking into the house to steal back the naked pictures of his sister. His younger
sister, Anabelle was sixteen, and they were both very
close to each other. A few months back she told him that she was seeing this hot
basketball player, who turned out to be from the very same college that Dan was
from.
Being the
protective brother that he was, Dan went to check out this guy whom his kid-sister
had been all head over heels from the very first moment she laid eyes on him.
It turned out the guy had a reputation on campus as a player, and he tried to
tell Anabelle this, but she was too infatuated to
listen to her brother.
It turned
out Dan was right. Ritchie was on the varsity basketball team, tall, muscular and
quite good looking - there were no shortage of girls who were interested in
him. He knew that too, and he changed girlfriends often. Until he met Anabelle (or so he told her) - a very innocent, young, teenage girl who never really had a
boyfriend before. He sweet-talked her, he told her he was tired of his old
lifestyle and he just wanted to be true to only one, and that she was his dream
girl. Anabelle took in all his bullshit, as she was
too smitten with all the attention from an older guy, who was also one of the most coolest and hottest guys around. Ritchie took her
virginity one stormy night, and promptly dumped her after that. Anabelle was totally heart-broken and Dan became enraged.
But that
was not the worst part. Ritchie had apparently taken pictures of Anabelle naked, that night when he took her virginity. The
bastard took pictures of the girl sleeping in his bed, with his digital camera
without her knowledge. Dan paid off some guys, and found out that Ritchie had
been boasting how easy his sister was, and was even charging ten bucks each for
the guys on the basketball team to see the naked pictures of the girl he
snagged, on his camera. That was the last straw for Dan.
Dan was a
sturdy and well-built guy himself, but he also knew he was no match for him in
a one to one fist fight with Ritchie. Not that he was afraid - Dan was just the
type of guy to plan his moves very carefully. He observed Ritchie for a few
weeks, plotting the perfect revenge that he was going to unleash on Ritchie’s
unsuspecting head that he would regret ever being born. But the revenge was only
secondary. Most important was
keeping his already distraught sister from being totally
destroyed if she ever found out that guys in her school could pay ten bucks to
see her naked pictures. Ritchie was clever; if he had distributed the girl’s
digital pictures instead of keeping it on his camera, he wouldn’t be able to
make money off it since lots of people would be able to make copies of it..
Dan
decided to steal Ritchie’s camera. That weekend, Ritchie and his whole family
would be away, so it was the prime opportunity for his mission to break into
the house and find that camera. Helping him was his pals, Rob, and Tristan. Rob
was a geeky sort of guy - timid, but a computer genius. Most people in school called
him “The Robman”. Tristan was almost the exact
opposite being almost a foot taller than Dan, a bodybuilding aficionado that
works out in the gym eight times a week. That’s once a day from Sunday to
Friday, and twice on Saturday. Character-wise, he was rash and impatient, but
also fiercely loyal to his friends.
It was
They made
their final approach to the house, noting the low, white-washed fence that
would make it so easy to climb over. Imagine their surprise when someone
whispered Tristan’s name. Peering into the darkness, the boys recognized Jasper
Tristan’s younger brother, crouching by the hedges.
“What in
the hell are you doing here??” Tristan whispered angrily.
“Hey, don’t
get all mad man. I’m just here to help. Can’t expect me to stay at home when
such a cool crafty operation is going on, can you?” Jasper replied with a sly grin.
Tristan
looked at Dan. Dan shook his head, “We didn’t want too many people – only adds the risk that we might get spotted”
“Hey Tris just be cool man, I can stakeout the outside to make
sure nobody’s coming,” Jasper interjected quickly.
“Okay
just don’t get weird on us, alright,” said Dan. He had no time to argue. He
just wanted to get this over and done with.
They
thought nobody would be home, but they were wrong.
Miranda
was Ritchie’s fifteen year old sister. She did not leave that weekend with the
rest of the family, like Dan thought. The guys had no idea she would return
home very soon.
