I have to agree that the past tense sentence structure is quite simple, giving it a stale, distant setting. Perhaps some quotations would be an improvement. Giving the doctor a name may also interest the reader. (6/10)

I hate to the the bearer of bad tidings, but this story leaves a lot to be desired. The sentence structure is spotty at best, guess english wasn't one of the author's favorite courses. The amount of unimportant detail that is provided borders on painful. The story itself is stale, banal, tired, overused, a warhorse, or any other description that means unoriginal and boring in the extreme. I would advise the author, who displays some intelligence in the use of a pen name, not to plan on quitting his or her day job. (3/10)
