From the inside looking out, or from the outside looking in, it's all a matter of perspective. When is it a dream, and when does it become reality? |

Loved it. It was very well written and the writer had an excellent voice. Unlike most of the stories I've read on this site, there was no faulty grammar or spelling involved at all. The story was also very detailed and varied from the "he did this" and "she did that" format. But it wasn't the writer's prose itself that got the high rating from me. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and plot itself. It was an engaging and powerful read - I was "into it" the whole time. The characters were believable and, to me, very likable. Maybe I am just strange, but I found it erotic. But then, I have a rather strange taste. I would continue to blandly heap praise onto the story, but I have the rest of the series to read. A 10 out of 10 without question. (10/10)

Compared to the other stories Jack writes this is quite short, to the point, and with less introduction to the characters and background. There is very little introduction and unnecessary background information, I enjoyed the intenseness of the story which was reflected in it's sparseness and loved the attention to detail and heightened sensual awareness of the victim in the story. Would recommend that you read this and then read the sequels that follow soon after. An enjoyable piece that can be read entirely on it's own or savoured as the beginning of a longer tale. (8/10)

Hopefully it's just me - I totally missed the eroticism, reading this like a political kidnapping in Iraq, but totally pointless. The two perspectives were well written, but why? (6/10)

- Why? Well, it's not an erotic sex story. The story code clearly states it involves D/s...it's a short study in the mental aspects of domination.
Your criticism is entirely justified if you expected the story to be something it is not. Fair warning to anyone else who might have the same expectations: none of my stories will interest you.

This story, in my opinion is good. The tension builds right from the start. It drew me right in, until the end when I actually felt rather drained by the ‘experience’. Some more pedantic readers may feel that the author should have included descriptions of the characters’ physical qualities. Personally, I felt the lack of those details strengthened the essence of the story. Oddly enough, this story, like another one that I read by the same author, doesn’t contain a single obscene word, or sex as such, and yet I still found it to be an extremely powerful read. (9/10)

- The lack of description for the characters is deliberate, including the ommission of names. Much like a radio play, the reader is left to fill in certain details from imagination.
