Good Dolcett universe story. I would have enjoyed a bit more about the preparation of the meat, and a bit less of the back story. Still, a good story over all. (8/10)

A well written fantasy, highly atmospheric, leaving just enough to the imagination. Other stories on similar lines often rush into a more explicit depiction of the final scene, but here the fantasy is all illusion, and it is set up beautifully. A welcome addition to the library of an enthusiast for this genre. (9/10)

An excellent piece of science fiction, reminiscent of Silverberg's "The Alien Years" in it's themes of helplessnes in the face of superior technology and the yearning to be freed from that helplessness. Blue is never defeated, merely killed.
Not overly erotic. In fact, if you rewrote this to remove the more explicit aspects, you could probably make this mainstream quite successfully. Some of your statements are a little bold; a certan amount of circumlocution can work wonders.
Good spelling and grammar. (8/10)

Not as erotic as some of your other work, but you developed a very nice relationship between Blue and Rush. Other than Aprille from one of your early stories, these were charaters that I started to care about.
Three minor issues prevented me from giving this story a higher rating. One was the very long prolog, you didn't need the first three chapters to be history. And some things you don't explain, exactly why the Gathers will pay more for females than males for example.
Watch your Point of view, you go into third person narration at the beginning of chapter 7 after having the rest of the story be in first and second person. It took me out of the story.
Finally, show me the action. Don't tell me about it. Of course if your showing the action in the later chapters this might be a bit more than some readers can take.
Overall it's a good story and I recommend it everyone. (7/10)
