Great story. I disagree with some of the reviewers. It is a Dolcett style story, and yes, it could have been slightly subtler, but that wasn't it's purpose. This was a short ans sweet one, and I, for one, really enjoyed it. (8/10)

- Thanks for the review. As I have said, I write the stories inside me, some are my takes on old favourites, others (hopefully) break new ground.

Your basic Dolcett story. Not my cup of tea really, but you conducted it competently, and with the usual modii. If anything, that's the problem I have - nothing new.
Still, your writing is good, as is your editing. A touch more descriptiveness would have been nice, but I'm quibbling. Good job. (7/10)

- I'm sorry this was not to your taste, but I have to write the stories that are inside me. Also, thank you for your kind words vis-a-vis my writing and editing. All my writing teachers would be pleased to know that I learned their teachings reasonably well, even if most would probably be appalled at the uses to which I put them.

In the interests of being a well rounded reader, I stayed with this ultra chauvinistic, demented exercise in sadism, cannibalism and mutilation right up to the bitter end. Excluding the content which is beyond the pale for this hardened reader, it is well written, with nearly flawless editing. The characters, such as they are, do not ring true, even for a fantasy. I have never understood this cult like following that Dolcette has, but one must acknowledge him as a major influence for this kind of story. My rating only means "good". (7/10)

- Fair enough. I don't write for everyone, but only for me, so it's too bad that this wasn't to your taste. After all, everybody has their own fantasies and squicks. I know that I am squicked by much that I read on this site, even by authors who sometimes get me off. That is what makes this a great and worthwhile site. :-) However, I do thank you for taking the time to review it, even if you didn't care for it.
