It was quite hard work reading this story because of the stilted language. i assume from the style of writing that English is not this authors native language. We are told that Brian was not aware that his elder sister now hated him (having previuosly always got on well). i am sorry but being one of three children and having raised two of my own, i do not believe such a reversal of feelings could occur without his knowledge. Also i do not see a mother could so suddenly despise her son to the point of not even calling him by his name. Then there is the very silly comment about the elder sister (Abi) not having really known her father. We are told that Brian is now 19 and was fourteen when his dad left, in other words five years previously. Abi is now seventeen so she would have been twelve when her dad left, so she would have remembered him (my children were 7 and 10 when their mother left now when they are in their 30's they still remember her). The youngest would have been four when dad left so she would have some problems remembering him but probably would have some recollections. i only came across this author today, having read his latest story and i can assure any reader he does improve as an author. (2/10)

Poor spell checking, repetition of words, and poor pacing. (4/10)
