1st let me say that I enjoyed the story. I loved the scenario, a man pulling a fast one on someone more powerful than himself, and being taken to task, via tortures to his wife, and threats of even worse. However, I felt that with all of this great setup, that the actual tortures, both in length of time, as well as in quantity and quality, were lacking. In addition, I felt that we the readers were kept somewhat in the dark about exactly what had happened, to precipitate this vicious attack, and again, as to exactly what the man had to do, to make his antagonist happy, other than paying a substantial sum of money to him, as it alluded to "following all of the instructions to the letter" but didn't tell us what those other things were. Personally, I think that a little rewrite, including expanding on what is already a good story, could make it a great story. (8/10)
