i wrote this by request. I didn't think the date would be as early as 1830. People were sailing to Australia as late as the 1880s. By the way, I used to live near Maidenhead. They won't let me reply without a rating, so I gave it a 10, but clealry I'm biased. (10/10)

Nice steady read. I shuddered at the hat pins! Only one criticism - given the apparent historical feel of the story, I felt the term "police" would not necessarily have been appropriate. The police force (later bobbies/coppers/police) did not come into being until almost 1830 and they were known as Peelers for a long time. Oh and by a stroke of coincidence, I live near Maidenhead! (7/10)
